When You Fall Out of Love With the Business You Built

You started it because you wanted to. Because you had something to offer, something to prove, or simply because you were ready to do things your way.

And for a while, it worked. You showed up. You built it. You kept going even when it was hard.

But somewhere along the way, something shifted.

Maybe it happened gradually. The decisions started feeling heavier. The things that used to excite you started feeling like obligations. You're still doing the work, still showing up, but the energy behind it has changed.

Or maybe you can't even pinpoint when it happened. You just know that right now, it doesn't feel the way it used to.

This isn't failure. But it is a signal.

Falling out of love with your business doesn't mean you made the wrong choice. It doesn't mean you should quit. And it definitely doesn't mean something is broken.

It usually means one of a few things. You're carrying too much on your own. Your thinking has become circular, the same questions on repeat with no resolution. Or you've lost sight of what you actually want, buried under the weight of what you think you should want.

Any of those sound familiar?

What gets in the way

The problem with being the decision maker is that there's nobody to think out loud with. Not really.

You can't show uncertainty to your clients. You can't let your team see you wavering. And the people closest to you, however well meaning, bring their own fears and opinions into every conversation.

So you carry it quietly. And quietly carrying it has a cost.

The thinking gets muddled. The decisions get harder. And the business that was supposed to give you freedom starts to feel like a trap.

What a business coach actually does about this

A business coach isn't there to tell you what to do. Or to give you a five step plan. Or to convince you that everything is fine when it isn't.

What a good coach does is give you somewhere to think. A confidential space, without agenda, without judgement, where you don't have to have the answers before you walk in.

Through the right questions and deep listening, coaching helps you hear your own thinking clearly enough to trust it again. It helps you separate what actually matters from the noise that's been clouding everything.

And when that happens, something shifts. The decisions get clearer. The pressure lifts. And sometimes, the love comes back.

Not always in the way you expected. But in a way that's real and sustainable and yours.

You don't have to be ready to quit to need this

You don't have to be on the verge of walking away. You don't have to be in crisis. You just have to be someone who knows something needs to shift, but can't quite see what's getting in the way.

That's exactly who I work with.
